Our goal is to give you the healthy, straight, and beautiful smile you've always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.

Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. Our practice utilizes the latest technology, offering a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.

Every smile starts with a new patient exam!

Your initial exam will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your initial exam, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Help you create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you. Please contact our practice to schedule your new patient exam.

What happens after the new patient exam?

You're one step closer to achieving the smile you've always wanted!  After your New Patient Exam, we will schedule your Diagnostic Records appointment to assess treatment.   This appointment generally takes about half an hour, and during this time our team will be available to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

STEPS FOR INITIATING TREATMENT

1.   Diagnostic Records:

  • Are  processed  in  our  laboratory  and  thoroughly  analyzed  by  the  doctors  to    help  define  the  full  extent  of  your orthodontic  needs,  set  goals,  and  plan  a  course of action  suitable  to  you  so  that  treatment  results  can  be  maximized and prolonged treatment times can be avoided.
  • Allows formulation of a treatment plan which maps out the types of appliances needed, the projected time and expected outcome of treatment, additional procedures which may be needed and outlines the responsibilities of the patient.

2.  Consultation:

  • Provides an opportunity to review with you the information gathered from the clinical examination and the diagnostic records so that you can choose a treatment plan which combines your concerns with the expected outcome.
  • Opportunity to exchange information and answer questions about the logistics of orthodontic treatment and fees before starting the treatment process.

Some of the benefits of orthodontic treatment include:

♦ Improve self-esteem by creating a more attractive smile

♦ Improve the bite and jaw function

♦ Decrease the strain on muscles and jaw joints

♦ Increase the cleanability of teeth

♦ Improve long term health of teeth and gums

♦ Guide permanent teeth into more favorable positions

♦ Reduce the risk of injury to protruded front teeth

♦ Better lip closure

♦ Improve speech / swallowing

♦ Aid in optimizing other dental treatment

Scheduling appointments

Visiting the orthodontist about every four to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Our practice will work with you to make sure your appointments are as convenient as possible. When scheduling appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you.

We understand that “life happens”! If you're running late or need to reschedule, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When you're ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We're looking forward to working with you.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best care possible.
